No title, no words.

August 24th, 2007

As you may or may not have heard on the news, Sophie Lancaster, the girlfriend of my cousin Rob, who were both beaten up badly a fortnight ago, has sadly passed away at 11.30am today. She was on life support after the attack, and in a coma, but sadly never woke up.

Not being one for sensationalism, I’m not going into a big rant about things, but am going to take this opportunity to respect her memory by offering my condolences to her family.

Sophie Lancaster, 1987-2007.
Karma will have it’s day.

And thus endeth the examination…

August 16th, 2007

Thank FUCK!!! Even though I only had one resit, I am actually rather glad that I don’t have to resit any more exams ever again.

If anything, I have learnt the following from this resit period:

  • GET IT RIGHT FIRST TIME!!!

Revision whilst in “summer mode” or when one has things on one’s mind is not the way to go. But now with this over, I can enjoy the rest of summer - well, until September 10th, when the resit results are officially released.

Right, only got an hour and a half until I have an EEG. Which will be fun :-D

Might ring my sister and see if she wants to come visit Leeds sometime soon, too… Which will be nice :-)

Laters!
:o)

5 little piggys…

August 13th, 2007

I’ve just been told that both my cousin and his girlfriend are both in a stable, but still serious, condition.

I was also told that the police have arrested and charged five 15-17 year olds.

FIVE PEOPLE!

Five people attacked my cousin and his girlfriend… And although robbery has not been ruled out as the motive, the police believe that it may have been simply because they wore “alternative” clothing.

I feel physically sick.

FTMFF!!!

(That means ‘For the mother fucking fail!!!’)

ITT we shall discuss how much my skillz are the FAIL!

Pong. Pong is most probably as ubiquitous as the Hello World program. Everyone knows of/has played Pong. It is a quintessential piece of history that any game developer needs to know of.
Which makes the fact that I can’t even create a clone of the bastard more harder to swallow. This, coupled with the need for me to actually pull my finger out and revise for my resit on Thursday, is making me a very upset little bunny.

Very upset.

There is so much fail in my programming skill at the moment, it is completely ludicrous. It is as if my whole being is saying “Do Not Want” whenever I try to express an idea as even 1 single line of code.

I have an amazing feeling of déjà vu from the Easter time period. Except this time it’s a little worse than what it was then. This is the whole “your degree rests on the fact that you need to pass this exam” thing. But it’s as if I’m subconsciously sabotaging the my chance to pass this year, in much the same way I was subconsciously sabotaging the chance for me to go to America for my year abroad.

desu desu desu desu desu desu desu desu desu

I need to get away from Leeds for a while, but unfortunately I’m in a little bit of a pickle in as much as I have nowhere I could go. Home (Rochdale) is not an option, unless I wanted to go fully insane, most of the people I know are in Leeds at the moment, I haven’t got that much money so a jaunt abroad is pretty much ruled out.

FOR THE FUCKING LOSE!!!!
Goddamn it. I so need to vent. Cos it bodes ill. It bodes very ill.
The last time I was like this, was after my first girlfriend dumped me and got with the barman who worked at the pub I was living at. I played the whole “keep cool and let it pass” thing, like now, but I lacked the experience to deal with it. Seems said experiences aren’t easily obtained.

AM I SUCH A BAD PERSON FOR THIS TO HAPPEN TO ME TWICE????

It seems that history repeats itself all the time.
That fucks me off…

This is getting way too much for me to deal with.
Karma will sort everything out.

(And for those who are interested Sarah [the first gf] is still with Tim [the barman]. Which, again, bodes very ill for my faith in Karma.)

The decision has been made, and I’m going to have to stick to my convictions and see it through.

It has to happen. It’s for the best.
Edit: And now it has happened. We shall see if how much better it gets.

Violence

August 13th, 2007

It’s senseless really.

Background: My cousin, whilst going home from a night out with his girlfriend last night (Saturday) was beaten by a gang of youths. He is now in a medically induced coma, in order to stabilise his condition. They stole his phone, but rang an ambulance for him.

Big of them really wasn’t it?

:o(

Obligatory post before heading off to work.

August 11th, 2007

Well, not exactly before, but near as dammit… I will have some food first, like :-)

Anyways, I’m a victim of my own imagination sometimes - and it makes me sad. So, in order to not give my imagination any unnecessary fuel I’ve had to make some very hard decisions.

I may be an 80s child…

August 8th, 2007

… but I sure as hell hate the hairstyles that were sported in said decade.
Mullets, the lot of them. But Pat Sharp was/is a deity; all hail Pat Sharp!

Mullets of the 80's.

Hehe. Yes, I know it’s 04:22 (at time of writing) and I should be in bed, asleep, but I thought this would be the best opportunity to do some blogging.

And I’m not drunk. I’m completely sober. For a change.

Wow. I’d forgotten about this :-S

August 4th, 2007

Yeah, so I’m gonna start blogging on this thing again.
S’pose it’s better than arsing around on WoW or Facebook all day, innit?

:D

This is sooooo much fun.

I think.

Meh!

Laters y’all

End-of-term-itis, it’s purportedly called…

March 16th, 2007

… I call it the end of the honeymoon period.

There have been a multitude of “I love my friends”, “You guys are great” and even a “I doubt that I’ll be keeping in touch” posts on Facebook, various blogs and other sources of the interweb (I myself have just posted one such thing). One person said it was “End-of-term-itis”, which is a valid, logical explaination of why moods have been swyaing of late. My theory is that the end of the “honeymoon period” as arrived.

“Everybody’s friendship’s are different.”

Which is extremely accurate, but all have a common denominator - the honeymoon period. Some friendships last out without hitting that invisible limit, whereas others hit it at a fairly rapid pace. I consider myself lucky in some respects that the friends I have I have never hit that barrier with, but sometimes it can be a curse as well as a blessing… Read the rest of this entry »

It’s about time!

March 7th, 2007

So, in true insomniac fashion, I have decided to make an entry in my blog again. The fact that there is probably nothing actually of interest to be found in here is quite a moot point, it’s the act of posting that matters.

Anyways, I have just whittled my Facebook groups membership count from 80ish to 10.

I’m currently in the throes of finishing off my SY22 coursework (after a few hours kip, it seems like the most logical thing to do - plus it’s giving me a chance to get some practical “experience” using Subversion)

And I think that I’m just going to plod along on this rocky road that is life, one step at a time.

:o)
